'Dog Days of Summer' small sculpture
'Dog Days of Summer' small sculpture
Little Burrow Designs
Dog Days of Summer sculpture is set on an upturned 1920's ebony based clothes brush, with natural bristles, re-imagined as a cornfield. The little dog is sitting patiently amongst the cornstalks, watching nearby fluttering butterflies.
The dog is a 1930's painted lead toy figure, and the butterflies are created from tiny snippets of 1900's French blue ombre ribbon, bobbing on little wires.
The words "Dog Days" are stamped on to a vintage tin fragment affixed to the front of the sculpture.
Dimensions: 15.3cm x 7.5cm x 7.5cm
