Abstract woodblock print in muted tones of dusty pink, charcoal, beige and black, on Zerkall paper. Edition no. 2/2.

Cathy’s work moves between abstract, semi-abstract and figurative imagery. Inspired by the landscape and coastline of Devon, she develops compositions from close observation, memory, and repeated visits to specific places. Her landscapes are distilled and abstracted, seeking to evoke atmosphere and rhythm rather than direct representation.
Alongside these works, she creates a range of bird prints which maintain her distinctive graphic language.

Each print is hand-editioned either on an Albion press at Double Elephant Print Workshop or hand burnished using Lawrence linseed oil-based inks on acid-free papers. Editions are intentionally small, with subtle variations that reflect the handcrafted nature of the process. 

Cathy works primarily in relief, producing small editions using multi-block and reduction linocut and woodcut techniques. Her prints are characterised by a bold graphic quality, strong line and form, and a carefully balanced use of colour.
