Catherine Ade
Catherine uses the lithographic printing process to collage together images; drawing on the stone and manipulating them during the processing to achieve certain affects. Her work is concerned with reflecting on how to convey the internal experiences of the world. With a practice rooted in drawing and printmaking, She draws images often using the setting of domestic interiors to form structures containing narratives which play with the interconnectedness of the physical bodily sensations and emotional experiences; exploring beyond what the eyes can see.
Stone lithography is considered and endangered craft by the Heritage Crafts Association, Catherine is one of the few practitioners in the UK.
